Coco Card · FAQ

Ask me the awkward ones

Money, data, ownership, leaving - the questions a sensible owner asks before putting anything on their counter, answered without wriggle room.

Is Coco Card a payment card?

No - never. It stores no money, holds no card details, and its points have no cash value and can't be transferred. It's loyalty and discovery only: stamps, visits, rewards, offers and profiles of local independents. If anything ever asks you to 'top up' a Coco Card, it isn't us.

Who owns the customer relationship?

The business does. Your members joined your programme; their names and visit history are your list. I host and safeguard the data as the provider, but I don't market to your customers, don't sell the list and don't share it with other businesses on the network.

Can points or stamps move between businesses?

No. Each business's rewards are ring-fenced as its own - one card is a convenience for the customer, never a shared currency. That's deliberate: your generosity funds your regulars, not someone else's.

What does Coco Card cost customers?

Nothing. No consumer subscription, no premium tier, no ads. The business pays for its programme as part of its Third Coconut package.

What data does Coco Card hold?

The minimum a loyalty card needs: a name, an optional contact detail, per-business visit and reward history, and any consents given. It's used only to run the programme - never sold, never used for third-party advertising. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

How do GDPR requests work?

Members can ask for their data or ask to be deleted at any time. Businesses get one-click export and delete tools in the dashboard, and I handle any request sent directly to me. Deletion is real deletion.

What happens if I stop?

Plans are rolling monthly - no long contract. If you cancel, you export your member list first (I'll help), the card stops accepting new stamps and your customers are told the programme has closed. No exit fees, no held-hostage data.

Does Coco Card gate reviews?

No, and it never will. Every review request goes to the public review link, for every customer. There's a private feedback route alongside for people who'd rather tell you something directly - alongside, never instead. Filtering who gets asked based on how happy they seem ('review gating') is against Google's rules and against mine.

Do customers need to download an app?

No. The card opens in the browser from your counter QR, installs to the home screen if they want it to, and adds to Apple or Google Wallet where available.

We already run paper stamp cards - what happens to them?

You honour them out gracefully. The usual plan: for a few weeks staff accept the old paper card and add the customer to Coco Card at the same visit, matching their earned stamps on the new card. I'll help you plan the switchover so nobody loses a stamp they'd earned.

Can I run Coco Card without a Third Coconut website?

Yes. Coco Card is a standalone product too - if you already have a website (or don't want one), you can get it on its own at thecococard.com: free until your first 25 members, then from £19 a month, with no setup fee. Prefer the whole growth system - a site built to convert, your Google profile, booking - the Hub plan (£149 setup + £49/mo) includes Coco Card free.

Is Coco Card really yours, or a white-labelled reseller product?

It's mine - designed, built and run in-house by The Third Coconut. That's why I can change reward rules, branding and reports for you without waiting on anyone else's roadmap.

Something I haven't covered? Ask me directly - you'll get a straight answer, including "no".

Happy with the answers?

Then the next step is seeing your own card - your name, your colours, your reward - mocked up for free.
